On Friday 18th October, we were thrilled to receive the prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade, marking ICD Europe’s second royal recognition.
The celebration event took place at our Sheffield headquarters and follows our previous honour, the Queen’s Award, which we received in 2022. This achievement makes us one of very few companies to hold both distinguished awards.
The ceremony featured a presentation by Dame Hilary Chapman, the Lord Lieutenant of South Yorkshire, who handed the award over our Commercial Director, Chris Brzozowski. We were also honoured to host other notable guests, including Clive Betts MP and Mr. Charles Turner DL, the immediate past Master Cutler of the Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire.
After the award presentation, attendees enjoyed a guided tour of our state-of-the-art testing and processing facilities.
The King’s Awards for Enterprise represent the highest official recognition for outstanding UK businesses, and winning this award for the second time underscores our dedication to international trade.
Since our establishment in 2016 as part of the global ICD Group, we have focused on international development, resulting in significant growth. We now export a diverse range of products to customers across Europe, the USA, and Asia, serving key sectors such as aerospace, medical, petrochemical, automotive, electronics, and industrial gas turbines.
After the formal ceremony, we hosted a special event for our dedicated team, featuring a locally sourced traditional pie and peas lunch. The afternoon was filled with fun activities like bowling, ping-pong, shuffleboard, and pool, allowing our staff to relax and celebrate together.
In his remarks, Chris Brzozowski emphasised, “This huge honour simply wouldn't have been possible without the hard work, dedication, and innovation of our incredible staff. We're so proud to celebrate this achievement with them.”
This award marks another significant milestone for ICD Europe, reinforcing our position as a leader in the global metals industry and highlighting our ongoing commitment to expanding our international reach.
